The fire department operates as a both a career and call staff department. Commanded by a full-time Chief, the department is split into two divisions of fire and EMS services, with many personnel over-lapping into both.

Fire Service

Except for five Firefighter/EMTs and the Chief, all fire personnel are on-call paid. Currently, the department operates with an Assistant Fire Chief, Battalion Chief, Captain, two Lieutenants, three Shift Officers, approximately thirty Firefighters, and two Dispatchers. The fire division operates three attack engines, a tower with full aerial, an engine/tanker, and a brush-fire vehicle.

Emergency Medical Service

All personnel are on-call paid. Crews respond to emergency calls to with an ambulance to administer medical care, and transport patients to Fletcher Allen Health Care. Emergency Medical Services are staffed with two Lieutenants, and approximately thirty EMTs. As a rescue division two fully functional ambulances are utilized. Additionally, we have a snowmobile and ATV along with a rescue sled for off-road rescues and transportation.
