Do I need a burn permit for a campfire or brush pile?

Please visit the "Services" tab at the top of this page, then select "Burn Permits".  The information there will help distinguish a campfire from a brush pile, and when a burn permit is required.

This service must be done by a certified technician.

Do I have to call the fire department if I am having
my fire alarm or sprinkler system inspected or tested?
Yes, we ask that you please notify us before and after any work is being done on (or near) your fire alarm or suppression systems.  We also ask that you notify your alarm company (so they know not to send an alarm if it comes through) and our dispatch service (for the same reason).  You can reach Shelburne Dispatch at (802) 985-8051.

Note:  Work that produces steam, smoke, heat, dust, or other particulates near your detector system(s) may set your alarm off.  Please speak with your vendor and/or alarm company before work begins to see if you should notify others and/or provide additional ventilation.
